Former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira accepts position with Nottingham Forest 1

Former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has reached an agreement to take over at Nottingham Forest, replacing Sean Dyche, according to sources speaking to ESPN.

The final details are still being finalized by both sides, but Pereira is expected to become Forest’s fourth manager this season, sources have indicated to ESPN.

Dyche was the third manager to be dismissed by Forest this season, following his departure after the team’s 0-0 draw with Wolves on Wednesday night.

This outcome left the club just three points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, sitting in 17th place.

ESPN sources have reported that Pereira has been the only candidate considered by Forest for the role of Dyche’s replacement.

Pereira was let go by Wolves in November but played a crucial role in ensuring their survival in the Premier League last season, demonstrating his capability to navigate a club through challenging times.

Additionally, Pereira’s prior experience working with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during his time at Olympiacos in 2015 is seen as a positive factor.

A fourth full-time managerial appointment this season would set a Premier League record for Forest.

Forest has faced a challenging season. Nuno Espirito Santo was dismissed in September after only three matches, despite having led the team into the Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou followed but lasted merely eight games, a tenure of 39 days.

Dyche’s time in charge extended to 114 days, with the announcement of his dismissal occurring shortly after midnight on Thursday.
