Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois negotiating for heavyweight championship bout – sources

Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois are currently in discussions regarding a heavyweight title clash between the two British fighters, according to sources speaking to ESPN.
Although no agreement has been finalized, it is believed that both parties are keen to arrange the bout, and negotiations are advancing.
Both athletes are under the promotion of Frank Warren and Queensberry, which should facilitate the organization of the match.
Wardley, the WBO title holder (20-0-1, 19 KOs), was promoted to full champion in November after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished the title.
This elevation followed his knockout victory over New Zealand’s Joseph Parker in London during October, which ended in the 11th round.
Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) has not competed since suffering a knockout loss in the fifth round to Oleksandr Usyk last July, but he is eager for the matchup and publicly challenged Wardley on social media on Saturday, urging him to “sign the contract.”
Wardley’s manager, Michael Ofo, stated to Sky Sports: “Regarding Daniel Dubois, it’s evident that Fabio is very much interested in that fight. There’s nothing quite like an all-British contest for the world heavyweight title!”
Wardley was designated as the mandatory challenger to face Usyk following his victory over Parker; however, Usyk chose to vacate the WBO title and was in negotiations to fight Deontay Wilder.
Sources informed ESPN that those discussions were moving forward but ultimately did not materialize.
Wilder is now scheduled to face Derek Chisora in April.
