Unbeaten British welterweight champion Constantin Ursu says he wants a world title shot within the next 12 months.
The 26-year-old, who is also the Commonwealth champion, retained his belts in August with an eighth-round technical knockout win over Ben Vaughan.
The Moldova-born fighter, who has been based in Plymouth since he was 18, won his Lonsdale belt in March with a points victory over Owen Cooper.
“I want to be world champion next year,” Ursu told BBC South West.
“I’ve been offered two IBO world titles to fight with Jack Rafferty, and they say no,” added Ursu, who has won all 16 of his professional bouts.
“But if they change their mind I’m ready to get this fight.”

Ursu does not have a bout lined up for the second defence of his British title.
He is keen to ensure he defends his Lonsdale belt twice more so he can keep it for posterity.
But, whoever his next opponent is, he says they will have to be ready for an improved performance from his fight in late August, when he felt he only showed “20% to 30%” of what he is capable of.
“I feel I didn’t get my dopamine for my last fight,” he said.
“I felt like I didn’t go for what I needed to in this fight, I’m not really happy with my last performance.
“So good luck to another opponent because I will give everything for the next fight.
“But it’s definitely not my best performance, it’s not even close to 50%, 60% of what I have in me.”
