WASHINGTON — Wizards point guard Trae Young is facing two injuries and is out indefinitely, as announced by the team prior to Saturday’s matchup against the Thunder.

Young re-aggravated his right quadriceps, suffering a contusion during the third quarter of Washington’s contest against Golden State on Monday, according to a statement from the team, which also noted he is experiencing lower back discomfort.

“Yes, he clearly sustained the contusion the other night, but he’s also been managing some back pain, so we conducted some imaging,” coach Brian Keefe stated before the game. “The back has been irritated. We do not have a timeline for any of that yet, but he is definitely out tonight.”

The team indicated that both injuries are being managed conservatively and will not necessitate surgery at this time.

Young, who was acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks on January 9, has participated in five games with the Wizards, averaging 15.2 points and 6.2 assists.

Washington has suffered losses in its last 14 games.
