Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga sidelined due to bone bruise in left knee

Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his left knee and will be reassessed “in the coming days,” as announced by the team on Sunday.
Kuminga exited Thursday’s defeat against the Dallas Mavericks in the second quarter after twisting his left ankle and hyperextending his left knee. He underwent an MRI on Friday.
The 23-year-old Kuminga is averaging 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds over 20 games (13 starts) this season. Before Jimmy Butler III sustained a season-ending ACL injury last week, Kuminga had not participated in 16 consecutive games.
He made his return to the court on Tuesday, scoring 20 points in 21 minutes against Toronto, followed by 10 points in 9 minutes against Dallas before departing due to the injury.
The Warriors are set to face Minnesota on Sunday and Monday, followed by a game at Utah on Wednesday.
The trade deadline is in two weeks. Kuminga’s discontent with the organization persists, according to league sources who informed ESPN, along with his wish to be traded to another team in the near future.
