WASHINGTON — Trae Young is nearing his debut with the Washington Wizards, while Anthony Davis remains unavailable for practice, as announced by the team on Thursday.

The Wizards obtained the injured pair — who collectively hold 14 All-Star selections — through trades with Atlanta in January and Dallas earlier this month.

The 27-year-old Young last participated in a game on Dec. 27. He will “ramp up” his basketball activities to further his recovery from an MCL sprain and a thigh bruise, as stated by the team, and will be assessed next week.

Earlier this month, Wizards GM Will Dawkins mentioned that Young had been engaging in one-on-none and two-on-two drills.

The 32-year-old Davis last played on Jan. 8.

After rehabilitating ligament damage in his hand in Dallas prior to the All-Star break, he is now in Washington following a consultation with hand surgeon Steven Shin in Los Angeles. He will be reevaluated in two weeks.

“You just follow the process,” Washington coach Brian Keefe stated. “That’s what we always do.”
