Thunder to assess Jalen Williams’ injury following the All-Star break

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams will undergo re-evaluation following the All-Star break after straining his right hamstring for the second time in under four weeks, a team representative informed ESPN on Thursday.
Williams was declared inactive for Thursday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, a day after exacerbating the injury he initially sustained on January 17.
He had previously missed 10 games before making his return in Monday’s road victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. In a remarkable outing during Wednesday’s road win over the Phoenix Suns, he scored 28 points on 11-of-12 shooting in just 20 minutes before leaving the game in the third quarter.
Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and sixth man Ajay Mitchell have both been out for significant periods due to abdominal strains.
Williams, who signed a maximum contract extension after contributing significantly to the Thunder’s championship success last season, missed the first 19 games of the season while recuperating from surgery on his right wrist. He is currently averaging 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
