Suns’ Devin Booker sidelined for a minimum of one week due to right hip strain

PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker is set to be sidelined for a minimum of one week due to a right hip strain sustained during the game against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.
The announcement was made by the team on Saturday prior to their matchup with the Orlando Magic.
Booker is currently averaging 24.7 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.9 rebounds across 44 games this season. The 29-year-old had recently been out for seven consecutive games due to a sprained right ankle.
The Suns also reported that newly signed guard Haywood Highsmith is in the process of recovering from right knee surgery performed last offseason. The team indicated that Highsmith is showing “good progress” and will undergo evaluation in two to three weeks.
This season, the Suns have emerged as one of the NBA’s unexpected teams with a record of 32-24, although injuries have impacted their performance, resulting in four losses in their last five games.
