PHILADELPHIA — San Antonio forward Harrison Barnes did not participate in his first game since 2021 due to waking up from a pregame nap with discomfort in his left ankle.

Barnes’ run of 364 consecutive games played concluded Thursday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. This marked his first absence since December 4, 2021, when he was with Sacramento.

Barnes was unexpectedly added to the injury report shortly before the game. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson mentioned that Barnes experienced soreness upon waking from his nap and received pregame care from the medical team.

New York’s Mikal Bridges holds the record for the longest active consecutive games streak at 616. Barnes is also second to Bridges for the most total games played since 2021, with 382.
