Pippen Jr. of the Grizzlies and Henderson of the Blazers launch their seasons.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. and Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson made their season debuts on the same court Friday night.
Pippen was appearing for the first time this season following surgery on his left big toe in October. Henderson was recuperating from a torn left hamstring.
With his renowned father observing from courtside, the younger Pippen started for the Grizzlies.
Pippen, 25, underwent a surgical procedure known as a sesamoidectomy to address persistent discomfort in his toe.
Last season, he recorded averages of 9.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists across 79 games for Memphis.
Henderson, on the other hand, sustained his injury during an offseason workout in September. Initially, he was projected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, but he did not commence non-contact basketball activities until December. He began full practice two weeks ago.
Henderson entered the game against the Grizzlies with 7:39 remaining in the first quarter to applause from the home crowd. Blazers coach Tiago Splitter mentioned prior to the game that his playing time would be restricted.
In his third NBA season, Henderson had not participated in a game since March 27, 2025. He averaged 13.3 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds during his first two seasons.
