Oded Kattash disclosed that Maccabi Tel Aviv nearly secured Killian Hayes, yet the transfer failed to occur even though the club agreed to his conditions.

Prior to Sunday’s derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv, Kattash emphasized the necessity for backcourt reinforcement, noting that Iffe Lundberg’s injury has compounded the squad’s challenges.

“We were very close to Killian Hayes. We agreed to all his conditions, but it didn’t happen. We really wanted him,” Kattash said, per Sport5. “I hope we can bring someone in quickly. We need it. At this stage, we’re looking at guards on the market.”

Kattash further recognized the burden placed on the players currently available.

“The roster is not balanced in terms of positions, and we need to find a way to address that. There is a lot of workload and pressure on the guards.”
