Newcomer Kon Knueppel establishes Hornets’ season record for three-pointers.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte rookie Kon Knueppel established a new franchise record for 3-pointers in a season.
Knueppel required four 3-pointers prior to Thursday night’s 127-107 victory over the Phoenix Suns. After missing two open attempts in the fourth quarter, Knueppel finally made his 261st 3-pointer with an assist from Grant Williams, prompting an enthusiastic reaction from the home crowd.
The 20-year-old Knueppel surpassed the previous franchise record of 260 3-pointers set by Kemba Walker during the 2018-19 season.
On Thursday, Knueppel shot 4-for-9 from beyond the arc, contributing 20 points to the team’s total.
In the same game, the Suns’ Collin Gillespie achieved a new franchise record for 3-pointers in a season with his 227th long-range basket, exceeding the previous record of 226 set by Quentin Richardson in the 2004-05 season.
