INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Referee Ben Taylor exited the play-in tournament matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the LA Clippers due to an injury on Wednesday evening.
Taylor walked off the court with a noticeable limp and proceeded up the tunnel behind one basket at Intuit Dome with 8:51 remaining in the third quarter. He was substituted by alternate referee Sean Corbin after a short pause in play.
The NBA assigns a fourth alternate referee to each postseason game to address such circumstances.
Taylor has 11 years of experience as an NBA referee, while Corbin is in his 31st season officiating.
The ninth-seeded Clippers were ahead of the 10th-seeded Warriors 61-53 at halftime of the elimination contest.
