MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid and Atlanta Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye were ejected on Monday night following an incident early in the fourth quarter of Minnesota’s 138-116 victory.

Gueye seemed to trip Reid, who then stood up and confronted Gueye, leading to a scuffle. Players, coaches, and arena personnel attempted to separate the two, but the pushing and shoving persisted, resulting in Atlanta center Jock Landale falling to the ground during the altercation. At one moment, Reid appeared to threaten a punch, but no punches were actually thrown.

Gueye was assessed a foul for the incident, and after an extensive review, both players received double technical fouls and were ejected.

Landale sustained scratches on his neck from the incident but remained in the game.

Reid exited the contest with seven points and six rebounds as Minnesota bounced back after suffering two disappointing losses to New Orleans and the LA Clippers.

Gueye contributed 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Hawks.
