Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and Naji Marshall dismissed during defeat against Magic 1

DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was ejected following a single technical foul, and forward Naji Marshall was dismissed shortly thereafter from the bench after receiving his second technical foul on Friday night during a 138-127 defeat to Orlando.

This incident occurred early in the fourth quarter against the Magic, with the Mavericks trailing by over 20 points. Dallas came into the matchup on a 14-game home losing streak, marking its longest since the 1993-94 season.

Kidd received a technical foul alongside rookie No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg, who protested a non-call on what he believed was a foul. Kidd seemed to be disputing the same non-call, prompting referee Sean Corbin to issue the technical.

Kidd had to be held back by assistant coach Frank Vogel and ended up in a confrontation with referee Eric Lewis, who directed an expletive at Kidd as he turned away from the coach.

Marshall received his first technical at the conclusion of the first half, with Desmond Bane converting the free throw to commence the third quarter. Marshall was seated on the bench when Bane executed a layup just as Lewis was blowing his whistle to issue Marshall his second technical.
