Luka Doncic scores 60 against the Heat as the Lakers extend their winning streak to eight games.

MIAMI — Luka Doncic recorded 60 points, while LeBron James achieved a triple-double on a night when he equaled the NBA record for games played. The Los Angeles Lakers extended their season-high winning streak to eight games with a 134-126 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night.
This performance marked the second-highest point total Doncic has achieved in a game, following a 73-point outing against Atlanta in 2024 and matching a 60-point game against New York in 2022. Doncic also set a new record for points scored by an opponent of the Heat, surpassing the 58-point performance by James Harden for Houston on February 28, 2019.
Doncic, the NBA’s leading scorer, has now tallied at least 30 points in eight straight games and reached the 50-point mark for the second time in his last five contests. James contributed 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Austin Reaves added 18 points for the Lakers.
Bam Adebayo led Miami with 28 points, as the team suffered its second consecutive loss. Tyler Herro contributed 21 points, and Norman Powell scored 20 for the Heat, who held a lead of as much as 15 points early in the game.
James did not miss a shot until early in the fourth quarter, completing 21 of 22 attempts over a span of just more than seven quarters. He made his final shot in Monday’s victory against Houston, followed by a 13-for-14 performance in Wednesday’s win over the Rockets, and started 7-for-7 against the Heat.
However, Doncic was the highlight, scoring 39 of his 60 points in the second half. He finished the game shooting 18-of-30 from the field, 9-of-17 from beyond the arc, and 15-of-19 from the free-throw line.
The Heat were missing Jaime Jaquez Jr. (left hip tightness) and Andrew Wiggins (toe).
