The NBA has overturned Luka Doncic’s 16th technical foul, permitting him to participate in the Los Angeles Lakers’ away game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday evening.

Doncic was assessed the technical foul during Saturday night’s win over the Orlando Magic, reaching the 16-technical mark that would result in a one-game suspension. He and Magic center Goga Bitadze were issued a double technical late in the third quarter following a verbal exchange while Doncic was at the free throw line, although both players provided contrasting narratives regarding the incident that led to the fouls.

Following the game, Doncic expressed his hope that the foul would be overturned, and the Lakers promptly submitted an appeal to the league.

Throughout his career with the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic has reached 16 technical fouls in two separate seasons, with the 16th technical being rescinded on both occasions.

Despite receiving the technical and shooting 2-for-13 in the second half (0-for-7 from beyond the arc), Doncic concluded the game with 33 points and eight assists, while the Lakers extended their winning streak to nine consecutive games.
