LeBron James’ prowess during his time with the Miami Heat also extended to the driveway.

Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night, Bronny James expressed his confidence in the locker room regarding their last one-on-one matchup.

The outcome? As per Bronny, his father shattered a backboard.

And he was indeed telling the truth.

After the Lakers’ 120-101 triumph against the Washington Wizards on Monday night, where LeBron recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, he verified that the one-on-one contest with his son resulted in glass scattered on the driveway.

“We had a hoop in our driveway, and I drove past him and dunked it. I didn’t intend to break the glass, but I did,” LeBron recounted.

The match, which the James family claims occurred in 2014, was held at their residence in Miami. LeBron noted that while Bronny, now 21, managed to make a few shots during the game, the result was never uncertain.

“That’s like Miami Bron — that’s like invincible Bron, so it’s not like he was about to win,” LeBron joked.

After the backboard was damaged, LeBron couldn’t remember if they replaced it at their Miami home.

“I didn’t mean to break it — did I have to buy another one, or did I even buy another one? Bronny, did I ever get another hoop?” LeBron inquired.

“I don’t think you did,” Bronny responded.

“I don’t think I did either. Yeah, I think that was it.”

As anticipation builds for a one-on-one rematch between the two, LeBron is currently averaging 20.9 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in the 2025-26 regular season.
