Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes has received a one-game suspension without pay for pushing the mascot of the Washington Wizards during pregame introductions last week, as announced by the NBA on Wednesday.

The Lakers secured a victory in the game, winning 142-111, with Hayes contributing 10 points and three rebounds from the bench on January 30 at Capital One Arena, marking the sixth match of L.A.’s recent eight-game road stretch.

Following the incident, Hayes participated in the last two games of the trip.

He will fulfill the suspension on Thursday when the Lakers face the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the league’s announcement.

At 25 years old, Hayes is averaging 6.4 points on 77.5% shooting and 3.8 rebounds as a backup big man for L.A. this season.

He has accepted an invitation to take part in the dunk contest later this month, sources informed ESPN’s Shams Charania.
