Kuminga of the Warriors ruled out for the remainder of the game due to ankle and knee injuries.

DALLAS — Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga sustained a left ankle twist and hyperextension of his left knee during a second-quarter drive on Thursday night against the Dallas Mavericks, cutting short what had been a spirited return to the lineup.
The team has officially ruled Kuminga out due to knee discomfort. Following initial evaluations of the ankle and knee, neither injury is considered to be serious, according to a league source who spoke to ESPN.
Kuminga performed well in Dallas, contributing 10 points in nine minutes and aiding the Warriors’ first-half resurgence. The team was plus-18 with him on the court.
However, Kuminga landed awkwardly during an early second-quarter drive, resulting in the ankle twist and knee hyperextension. He was fouled during the play, converted both free throws, and briefly attempted to stay in the game. After limping around for a few possessions, Kuminga requested to exit and walked to the locker room with a trainer.
This injury occurs at a significant moment for Kuminga, who expressed a desire to be traded from the Warriors last week but has returned to Steve Kerr’s rotation following Jimmy Butler’s ACL injury on Monday night.
Prior to this week, Kuminga had not played in 16 consecutive games, fading from the scene while making his wish for a new opportunity known.
Nonetheless, Kerr was compelled to utilize Kuminga again on Tuesday night, where he delivered 20 points in 21 minutes off the bench, earning another chance on Thursday night against the Mavericks.
The trade deadline is two weeks away. Kuminga’s discontent with the organization persists, according to league sources, along with his intention to seek a trade in the near future.
