Jusuf Nurkic to undergo nasal surgery, sidelining him for the remainder of the Jazz’s season.

HOUSTON — Utah Jazz center Jusuf Nurkic is set to have nose surgery this week, which will result in him missing the rest of the season.
Jazz head coach Will Hardy mentioned prior to Monday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets that Nurkic has required this procedure for some time.
“He has been dealing with a significant deviated septum in his nose,” Hardy stated. “He has been struck in the face four or five times this season. His recent illness has expedited the need for this. It’s something that has been necessary for a while, so he will be addressing it now.”
The 31-year-old Nurkic recorded an average of 10.9 points and 10.4 rebounds over 41 games in his inaugural season with the Jazz. He is set to enter free agency following the conclusion of the season.
“Nurk has played a crucial role in our performance this year, and he contributes to our team in numerous ways,” Hardy remarked.
