ATLANTA — Giannis Antetokounmpo was not present for the Milwaukee Bucks’ game against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, marking the 31st contest the two-time MVP has been sidelined this season.

Initially, Milwaukee’s injury report had indicated that Antetokounmpo was questionable due to the management of his right calf injury, but the team subsequently declared him out due to a sprained left ankle.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers mentioned during his pregame press conference that the issue originated from the Bucks’ 112-105 defeat to Miami on Thursday night.

The Bucks are competing on consecutive days; they will return home to play the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Antetokounmpo has not participated in games on back-to-back days since his return on March 2 following a right calf strain.

This marks the highest number of games Antetokounmpo has missed in any season throughout his 13-year career.
