Giannis Antetokounmpo leaves Bucks’ victory following an unusual landing.

MILWAUKEE — Giannis Antetokounmpo exited Milwaukee’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday after landing awkwardly while executing a dunk late in the third quarter of the Bucks’ 134-123 win.
Antetokounmpo stayed in the game briefly and completed another dunk on Milwaukee’s subsequent possession. He was fouled on the next play and took two free throws before heading to the locker room.
He did not return for the remainder of the game. Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists in 30 minutes of play.
“I suspect he may have hyperextended his knee, but that’s just a guess,” Bucks coach Doc Rivers stated.
Antetokounmpo mentioned he was not intending to undergo imaging. The two-time MVP expressed that he felt capable of completing the game but opted to heed the guidance of the Bucks’ training staff.
“I’m just going to head home, get some sleep, see how I feel tomorrow, and try to lift some weights,” Antetokounmpo said. “If I experience any discomfort, then I’ll assess the situation from there. As of now, I’m not really feeling any issues.”
The 31-year-old Antetokounmpo has missed a career-high 31 games this season. He has faced two significant absences due to strains in his right calf. He was sidelined during the Bucks’ 122-99 defeat at Atlanta on Saturday due to a sprained left ankle.
