Fidler Wins BCL Player of the Week After Dominant Performance

Frankie Fidler has been named the Basketball Champions League Player of the Week.
The 23-year-old small forward claimed the award on Friday after winning a 24-hour fan vote, edging out Peristeri Betsson’s Ty Nichols, Hapoel Maoz Daniel Holon’s Lester Medford, ALBA Berlin’s Brandon Angel, and Igokea m:tel’s Djordje Topolovic.
This honor capped a strong period for Fidler, who had already been selected to the Team of the Week on Thursday, making him eligible for Player of the Week honors. With this selection, he joined Gytis Radzevicius, Adama Sanogo, and KJ Simpson Jr. as the fourth weekly winner of the 2026–27 season, sponsored by Ameresco SUNEL.
His case for the award was built on a comprehensive performance on Tuesday. Playing before 4,430 fans as Sabah defeated Nanterre 92, the former Michigan State and Omaha standout contributed across all statistical categories, achieving an efficiency rating of 21. He recorded 18 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals, shooting 3-of-4 from three-point range.
This recent display extended a promising start to his BCL campaign for the Nebraska native. Across three games, Fidler has averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.
The win over Nanterre demonstrated his team’s intent to remain competitive as discussions around the Round of 16 and Play-Ins intensify. Currently positioned at 1–2 in Group A of the Regular Season, Sabah returns to action against Trabzonspor in Baku on November 10.
