Durant sidelined against Pacers following incident with fan's foot 1

INDIANAPOLIS — All-Star forward Kevin Durant will be unavailable for the Houston Rockets on Monday evening after sustaining a sprained left ankle when he inadvertently stepped on a fan’s foot during a recent match.

Coach Ime Udoka shared this information approximately 90 minutes prior to the team’s game against the Indiana Pacers, indicating that Durant “tweaked” his ankle. He did not provide a timeline for Durant’s return.

Durant was selected as an All-Star reserve on Sunday, marking his 16th All-Star appearance. He logged nearly 38½ minutes in Saturday’s 111-107 win over Dallas. Reed Sheppard is anticipated to take Durant’s place in the starting lineup.

This season, Durant has not missed any games due to injuries. He did sit out two games in November for personal matters. The 37-year-old Durant is leading the team with an average of 26.2 points per game.
