Cade Cunningham of the Pistons is approaching a comeback following a collapsed lung.

Cade Cunningham has been moved to doubtful for Monday night’s matchup against the Orlando Magic, indicating that the Detroit Pistons’ All-Star point guard may be close to making a comeback as the playoffs approach.
Cunningham has been sidelined since March 19 due to recovery from a collapsed left lung but has entered a return-to-play protocol, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
With Monday’s game included, the Pistons have four contests left in the regular season. There is hope that Cunningham will return possibly before the start of the playoffs, according to Charania.
Despite Cunningham’s absence, the Pistons have excelled, securing the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference following a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
Prior to his injury, Cunningham was in discussions for MVP consideration, averaging 24.5 points and 9.9 assists for the top team in the East.
