Cade Cunningham of the Pistons acquires a share in MLB’s Rangers.

Detroit Pistons All-Star Cade Cunningham has acquired a minority ownership interest in his local MLB franchise, the Texas Rangers, he informed ESPN’s Shams Charania on Thursday.
Cunningham is one of the athlete investors involved with Sportsology Capital Partners, which has recently finalized the minority investment in the Rangers.
The 24-year-old Cunningham hails from Arlington, Texas. He threw the ceremonial first pitch prior to a Rangers home game against the Baltimore Orioles last July.
“It was an incredible experience,” Cunningham remarked at that time. “To return to the sports teams that I grew up cheering for and admiring, it’s remarkable.”
Cunningham, who is currently averaging 25.3 points, 9.6 assists, and 5.6 rebounds this season, is set to participate in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday for the USA Stars. This marks his second All-Star selection since being the No. 1 overall pick in 2021.
He signed a five-year maximum rookie extension in 2024 that could potentially be valued at up to $269 million. Additionally, he secured a new six-year endorsement deal with Nike in November, which includes a signature shoe agreement.
