Bucks address LeBron James’ remarks about Milwaukee and Memphis following victory

The Milwaukee Bucks followed their 131-115 win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday with a lighthearted social media post referencing remarks made by LeBron James.
The Los Angeles Lakers forward attracted attention last Thursday during a segment on a “Bob Does Sports” YouTube video. When questioned about whether travel becomes more challenging for him, he responded affirmatively before elaborating.
“A random f—ing Tuesday in Milwaukee staying at the f—ing Hyatt at 41 years old, you think I want to do that s—?” James remarked. “Being in Memphis on a f—ing random ass Thursday.”
He also mentioned that he is not the first NBA player to propose relocating the Grizzlies from Memphis to Nashville.
“We all like, ‘You guys have to move. Just go over to Nashville,'” he stated. “You got Vanderbilt over there. You got NASCAR. You got a stadium. Don’t they got a hockey team, too? It got everything.”
When asked on Saturday about the backlash he faced regarding his comments and why he singled out Memphis, he clarified that he also mentioned Milwaukee, further specifying that there are two cities he currently dislikes playing in: Milwaukee and Memphis.
The Bucks took note of his remarks and captioned their social media post: “Won the matchup between everyone’s two favorite cities.”

On Saturday, James provided further context to his statements.
“I’m not talking about the city, the people in Memphis. I don’t like staying at the Hyatt Centric,” he explained. “What’s wrong with that? What’s wrong with that? Nothing. What are we talking about? People need to chill out.”
Fortunately for James, the Lakers do not have any more visits to Milwaukee or Memphis this spring. They secured victories in both of their games there this season.
The head coaches of the teams in those cities defended their respective locales.
Grizzlies head coach Thomas Iisalo expressed on Friday that his viewpoint is entirely different, noting that Memphis has been very warm and welcoming. On Sunday, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, who attended college in Milwaukee, highlighted the city’s development since his college days. He then made a humorous suggestion.
“I think we should trade for him. That would be my answer,” he said. “Let him see Milwaukee and I think he would change his tune. Ima get fined for saying that.”
