Blazers’ Deni Avdija leaves game against Suns due to lower back injury
PHOENIX — Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Deni Avdija exited Sunday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns due to a lower back injury, and the team announced he would not return to the contest.
Avdija was deemed questionable prior to the game but opted to participate. He played for only one minute before departing the court and heading back to the locker room.
Avdija — who has been experiencing lower back problems for several weeks — entered the game averaging 25 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists.
