76ers guard Tyrese Maxey out due to right finger sprain

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey has sustained a sprain to his right fifth finger and will miss the team’s forthcoming back-to-back games, as announced by the organization on Sunday.
Maxey is set to undergo additional evaluations before a treatment strategy is determined. The Sixers are scheduled to face the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Monday and will host the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
The injury occurred with under 30 seconds remaining in Saturday’s defeat against the Atlanta Hawks. Maxey collided with a teammate while attempting to make a steal and immediately clutched his right hand in discomfort. He did not complete the game.
As of Sunday night, the Sixers were one loss behind the sixth-seeded Orlando Magic. They have been without Paul George for several weeks due to a 25-game suspension for breaching the league’s anti-drug policy. Joel Embiid has also faced challenges this season, frequently missing games due to knee problems, including the last four contests.
Maxey is having a standout season, averaging 29 points and 6.7 assists. He is just four games away from reaching the 65-game minimum required for end-of-season accolades.
