Sloane Stephens and Jozy Altidore to divorce following four years of marriage.
Former US Open tennis titleholder Sloane Stephens and ex-U.S. men’s national soccer player Jozy Altidore are concluding their marriage after four years.
Stephens — who claimed the US Open in 2017 — shared a story on Instagram to announce the separation.
“Jozy and I have made the decision to end our marriage,” the post stated. “With peace, I am navigating this transition with mutual respect and kindly request privacy during this period. Thank you for your love, understanding, and ongoing support.”
The 32-year-old Stephens was also the runner-up at the 2018 French Open. The 36-year-old Altidore netted 42 goals in 115 appearances for the U.S. men’s soccer team from 2007 to 2019 and had an extensive professional career in Major League Soccer and abroad.
