Novak Djokovic withdraws from the Madrid Open due to injury.

MADRID — Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the Madrid Open due to an ongoing injury.
The fourth-ranked Djokovic has not participated in any matches since the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. He was unable to take part in the Miami Open because of a right shoulder injury and also missed the Monte Carlo Masters.
“Madrid, unfortunately I won’t be able to compete at the Madrid Open this year,” he stated on his social media platforms on Friday. “I’m continuing my recovery in order to be back soon. Hasta pronto!”
Djokovic is a three-time titleholder in Madrid.
