Novak Djokovic secures victory in five-set semifinal against Jannik Sinner

After being questioned about his ability to break the hold of the current leading figures in men’s tennis, Novak Djokovic managed to prevail over Jannik Sinner in a gripping five-set match at the Australian Open.
Djokovic’s victory with scores of 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 against Sinner in a contest that lasted until after 1:30 a.m. local time in Melbourne secures him a chance to compete for an unprecedented 25th Grand Slam title.
In the final, Djokovic will face Carlos Alcaraz, who, along with Sinner, has captured the last eight major titles. Alcaraz triumphed over Alexander Zverev in another five-set battle during the first semifinal.
Sinner’s defeat marks his first loss at the Australian Open since 2023, having won the championship in the previous two years.
