Top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz is now just two victories away from achieving a career Grand Slam following his 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Alex de Minaur, which concluded play on Tuesday at the Australian Open.

In his inaugural semifinal in Australia, Alcaraz will face 2025 finalist Alexander Zverev, who defeated 20-year-old Learner Tien 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 7-6 (3) in an afternoon match held under cover.

The two players are tied 6-6 in their head-to-head encounters, with Zverev having claimed victory in the quarterfinals here in 2024, marking their sole matchup in Australia.

“It’s going to be a great battle,” Alcaraz stated. “I’m eager to compete against him here, seeking revenge.”
