England maintained their title defense in the Women’s Six Nations with an 84-7 victory over Scotland on a significant day at Murrayfield.

In front of a record audience for a women’s rugby match in Scotland, the dominant world champions scored 12 tries, marking their 35th consecutive Test win.

Ellie Kildunne and Sarah Bern each scored twice for the visitors, while Meg Jones, Kelsey Clifford, Emma Sing, Amy Cokayne, Marlie Packer, Sadia Kabeya, Mia Venner, and Haineala Lutui also contributed to the scoreline, with fly-half Zoe Harrison successfully converting all 12 tries.

Scotland managed to secure a first-half consolation through Rhona Lloyd as Sione Fukofuka’s inaugural home match as head coach concluded in a significant loss.

Kildunne, playing on the wing, crossed in the left corner within eight minutes to open the scoring, followed by Jones, who broke free for the second try.

Scotland started with determination after their round one victory in Wales but fell further behind when Kildunne received a pass from Jones to score her 50th Test try.

Despite missing 10 players due to injuries or pregnancy, England secured the bonus point in the 26th minute with a strong finish from prop Clifford.

Lloyd sprinted away to put Scotland on the board after Helen Nelson’s chip was gathered by Chloe Rollie, but the visitors quickly responded with a try from full-back Sing, leading 35-7 at halftime.

The Scottish defense was further tested as hooker Cokayne scored, followed by two tries from replacement prop Bern, extending England’s lead.

Packer then added her 53rd international try with 15 minutes to go, before Kabeya, Venner, and Lutui added to Scotland’s woes, securing England’s second victory of the championship after their 33-12 win over Ireland the previous weekend.
