New Zealand Rugby has announced that Dave Rennie will be the new head coach of the All Blacks.

Rennie has outperformed Jamie Joseph to take over from Scott Robertson, who was dismissed in January after an evaluation of the All Blacks’ 2025 Test season.

The former Wallabies coach, who was let go by Rugby Australia at the beginning of 2023, has agreed to a contract that extends until the conclusion of Rugby World Cup 2027.

Currently leading Kobe in Japan, Rennie will return to New Zealand after the League One season to get the All Blacks ready for their Nations Championship Tests against France, Ireland, and Italy.

“It is a tremendous privilege to coach the All Blacks,” Rennie stated in a media release.

“I am very proud to have been given this opportunity and recognize the expectations that accompany it.

“I have a clear vision for how I want the All Blacks to perform, and I am eager to collaborate with the players, management team, and the rugby community. There is a wealth of talent here, and we will be putting in significant effort to make the nation proud.”
