Japanese Grand Prix: Kimi Antonelli records quickest time in last practice session

Kimi Antonelli outpaced his teammate George Russell as Mercedes showcased their strength in the final practice session for Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix.
Antonelli, who secured his first victory in China two weeks ago, concluded the session 0.254 seconds ahead of Russell in Suzuka.
Both Antonelli and Russell appear ready to contend for pole position later on Saturday, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc trailing in a distant third.
Leclerc finished almost nine tenths behind Antonelli, while McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was a full second off the pace, just ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton in fifth.
World champion Lando Norris managed only 13 laps after being limited for most of the session due to an engine issue.
Audi’s Nico HΓΌlkenberg secured seventh place, one position ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
