Chinese Grand Prix LIVE: Current updates as Kimi Antonelli competes against George Russell and Lewis Hamilton for the win

Kimi Antonelli aims to transform his record-setting pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix into his first Formula 1 win on Sunday, and you can catch all the action live on ESPN right here:
Despite encountering a gearbox problem, George Russell helped Mercedes achieve a second consecutive front-row lockout for the race in Shanghai. Russell managed to complete only one flying lap in Q3, but the impressive pace of Mercedes was sufficient to secure a 1-2 finish in qualifying. Ferrari closely followed, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari positioned in third and fourth. Their explosive starting capabilities on Sunday could pose a challenge, although previous performances in the Australian Grand Prix and the Sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix suggest that Mercedes’ dominance during the race will be hard to contest.
In other news, four-time world champion Max Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the Red Bull car after a lackluster qualifying session, placing him eighth on the grid, just behind Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, who delivered a strong performance.
Oscar Piastri and reigning world champion Lando Norris will start in fifth and sixth positions, respectively, for McLaren.
Earlier on Saturday, a thrilling sprint race saw George Russell fend off an early challenge from Lewis Hamilton, followed by a late surge from Charles Leclerc, allowing Russell to win the sprint and extend his early lead in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
Kimi Antonelli had a challenging start in that race but managed to recover and finish in fourth place; however, it is the type of start he will seek to avoid from pole position today.
