Cadillac appoints former Hamilton associate Hynes as chief racing officer.

Cadillac has appointed former Lewis Hamilton associate Marc Hynes as chief racing officer in preparation for its inaugural Formula 1 season.
Hynes served as CEO of Hamilton’s Project 44 initiative from 2016 to 2021 and continued collaborating with the seven-time world champion on non-racing projects until the previous year.
Hynes has now rejoined Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon, who previously managed the Manor team. Hynes was a driver development coach under Lowdon during the latter years of Manor’s presence in F1.
Cadillac officially announced his appointment on Tuesday, stating that his new position will “ensure peak performance throughout the team’s racing operations” and enhance coordination between the sporting and technical divisions.
Hynes will also oversee the team’s driver program, which features regular race drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, along with reserve driver Zhou Guanyu and test driver Colton Herta.
“Marc brings an outstanding mix of racing knowledge, strategic insight, and personnel management to the team,” Lowdon remarked. His capacity to connect drivers, engineers, and management will be essential as we establish our presence on the grid. As we embark on our debut season, having someone of Marc’s expertise leading our racing operations is a significant advantage for the Cadillac Formula 1 Team.”
Hynes stated: “Establishing a new team in Formula 1 presents a unique challenge, and I am eager to help cultivate the culture, processes, and performance benchmarks from the outset. We have a robust and varied driver lineup, and my emphasis will be on fostering the clarity, alignment, and discipline necessary for everyone—drivers and engineers alike—to excel.”
Hynes is the latest addition ahead of Cadillac’s first F1 season.
The team is set to make its debut at the Australian Grand Prix on March 8.
