OTTAWA, Ontario – The U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey team secured a 7-1 win against Canada today (April 12) in the concluding match of the 2026 Frontier Series at Richcraft Sensplex, with contributions from five different players.

This victory allowed the U.S. to achieve a series sweep, finishing with a record of 2-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L).

“It was an enjoyable weekend, and it was wonderful to have everyone reunited,” stated Rose Misiewicz, head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Sled Team. “The team improved each day, and performing at our best in the final game was an excellent way to conclude the series.”

Kaden Herchenroether (Allison Park, Pa.) initiated the scoring just 4:20 into the game, giving the U.S. a 1-0 advantage.

At the seven-minute mark of the second period, Lera Doederlein (San Diego, Calif.) found the net with a shot set up by Catherine Faherty (Norwell, Mass.), extending the U.S. lead.

Less than a minute later, Chloe Kirkpatrick (Bemidji, Minn.) scored from the point, increasing Team USA’s lead to 3-0, with Faherty assisting on the play.

Kelsey DiClaudio (Plum, Pa.) made it 4-0 when she utilized her speed to evade two Canadian defenders, resulting in a breakaway opportunity that she converted with a shot from just outside the crease 5:44 into the third period.

Only 22 seconds later, DiClaudio netted her second goal of the game with a precise shot from the slot, giving the U.S. a 5-0 lead. Katie Ladlie (Troy, Mo.) provided an assist on this goal.

Ladlie then scored with a wrist shot from the point that found the top-right corner of the net, further extending the U.S. lead at the 6:47 mark.

Canada’s Raphaelle Tousignant scored with 5:28 remaining in the game, bringing the score to 6-1.

Doederlein added a short-side goal from the right circle with 4:50 left, assisted by Faherty, to finalize the score at 7-1.

Gabby Graves-Wake (Phoenix, Ariz.) was credited with the win in goal for Team USA.

NOTES: Team USA did not have any power plays, while Canada went 0-2 on the power play … Chloe Kirkpatrick was named U.S. Player of the Game … Kelsey DiClaudio was recognized as U.S. Player of the Series.

GAME TWO: USA 5, Canada 4

DiClaudio recorded four points (2g, 2a), including the game-winning goal, propelling the U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team to a 5-4 win over Canada in the second match of the 2026 Frontier Series on Saturday (April 11) at Richcraft Sensplex.

Just one minute into the game, Faherty connected with Madeleine Gallagher (Palm Bay, Fla.) via a cross-ice pass in the offensive zone, allowing Gallagher to score with a wrist shot, giving the U.S. a 1-0 lead.

At the 3:10 mark, Faherty doubled the U.S. advantage with a top-shelf shot from the slot, assisted by Erica McKee (Chicago, Ill.) during a power play.

With 2:27 left in the first period, DiClaudio passed from behind the net to McKee in the slot, who scored from the left circle, extending Team USA’s lead to 3-0.

Early in the second period, Canada scored two breakaway goals, first from Christina Picton at 1:31 and then from Raphaelle Tousignant at 2:07, narrowing the gap to one goal.

DiClaudio restored a two-goal lead with 6:07 remaining in the second period, scoring on a breakaway after deking past Canada’s goalie Jessie Gregory.

In the final minutes of the second frame, Picton scored on a wraparound, bringing Canada back within one goal.

At the 5:28 mark of the third period, Alyssa White collected a rebound just outside the crease and knocked it over the goal line, tying the game at four goals each.

The U.S. regained the lead with 7:10 left in the match when DiClaudio scored through traffic with a shot from the point, marking the final goal and the game-winner.

Hope Magelky (Bismarck, N.D.) secured the win in goal for Team USA.

NOTES: USA was 1-2 on the power play, while Canada did not have a power play… Lera Doederlein was named U.S. Player of the Game.

GAME ONE: USA 2, Canada 1

McKee scored the equalizing goal, while Faherty, DiClaudio, and Doederlein each converted in the shootout, leading the U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team to a 2-1 shootout victory over Canada in the first match of the 2026 Frontier Series on Friday (April 10) at Richcraft Sensplex.

Christina Picton opened the scoring 4:54 into the game, putting Canada ahead 1-0.

At the 7:30 mark of the second period, McKee intercepted a breakout pass in the offensive zone and fired a shot top-shelf from the left circle, leveling the score.

The final period saw no scoring from either team, leading to a five-minute sudden-death overtime. The game remained tied at one goal each through overtime, resulting in a shootout.

After Faherty scored on the first attempt, netminder Graves-Wake denied Canada’s initial opportunity, giving the U.S. an advantage. DiClaudio scored in the second round, followed by a Canadian goal to make it 2-1. Doederlein then converted her chance in the third round, securing the victory for Team USA.

NOTES: USA was 0-2 on the power play, while Canada was 0-1… Catherine Faherty was named U.S. Player of the Game.
