Team USA Reveals Squad for U18 Men’s World Championship
BRATISLAVA, Slovakia – USA Hockey has revealed its 25-player roster for the 2026 U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team that will participate in the 2026 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship from April 22 to May 2 in Bratislava and Trencin, Slovakia.
The tournament will feature 10 nations divided into two groups for the preliminary round, which commences tomorrow (April 22). Team USA is placed in Group B alongside Czechia, Denmark, Germany, and Sweden, with all matches scheduled at Vladimír Dzurilla Ice Arena in Bratislava. Group A consists of Canada, Finland, Latvia, Norway, and Slovakia, and will conduct its preliminary round matches at Pavol Demitra Ice Stadium in Trencin. Each venue will host two quarterfinal contests, while the semifinal matches and the bronze and gold medal games will take place in Trencin.
Team USA is guided by Nick Fohr (Grand Forks, N.D.), who is serving as head coach for the U.S. for the second occasion at the IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Casey Mutryn (Norwell, Mass.) has been named the captain of the United States, while Mikey Berchild (Minnetonka, Minn.), Victor Plante (Hermantown, Minn.), and Logan Stuart (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) will act as alternate captains.
ABOUT THE ROSTER
The roster includes 14 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders, representing 11 different states, with Minnesota contributing the highest number at nine players. Ten distinct colleges are represented, with 22 players committed to collegiate hockey. Boston University, University of Denver, and University of Notre Dame each have four players on the roster, while three NCAA conferences are included. A total of 16 players participated in the 2026 Chipotle All-American Game, and 15 are eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft. The U.S. aims to secure its 12th gold medal in the tournament’s history, having last won gold in 2023 in Basel, Switzerland. The team’s 11 gold medals are the highest of any competing nation in the tournament’s history.
Team USA will commence preliminary round action tomorrow (April 22) against Czechia at 10:00 a.m. ET. All U.S. matches during the tournament will be broadcast live on NHL Network.
