2027 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship: Schedule and Ticket Details Revealed

DULUTH, Minn. – Preliminary round tickets for the 2027 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. CT at iihf.com/en/events/2027/wm18, USA Hockey announced today during a community kickoff event hosted in partnership with Minnesota Sports and Events.

USA Hockey members, DECC Fan Club members, Minnesota Sports and Events Insiders, and University of Minnesota Duluth men’s and women’s hockey season ticket holders will receive priority access to pre-sale opportunities, which begin on Friday, Sept. 18.

The tournament, set for April 21–May 2, 2027, at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn., will feature 10 nations competing in 28 games across 12 days. The full tournament schedule was also released today HERE, including preliminary-round matchups and the path to the bronze and gold-medal games on May 2.

“We couldn’t be more excited about bringing this world-class tournament to Duluth,” said Tony Driscoll, assistant executive director of USA Hockey. “Opportunities to host an international championship of this caliber in the United States are special, and fans will see the next generation of NHL stars compete for a gold medal.”

The IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship is the premier showcase for the world’s best NHL draft-eligible players, giving fans an early look at many of hockey’s future stars competing on the international stage.

Tournament alumni include Olympic gold medalists and Minnesota Wild standouts Matt Boldy and Quinn Hughes, as well as fellow Team USA stars Jack Eichel, Jack Hughes, Auston Matthews, and Matthew and Brady Tkachuk.

University of Minnesota Duluth forward and Hermantown, Minn., native Max Plante, winner of the 2026 Hobey Baker Award, as well as his brother Victor Plante, an incoming freshman for the Bulldogs, each represented Team USA at the IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship before joining the collegiate ranks.

TICKET INFORMATION

Single-game tickets for the preliminary round start at $15 and go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. CT along with select ticket packages.

Packages include:

• All-session package with tickets to every game, including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal round ($550)
• A Team USA preliminary-round package featuring all four U.S. games ($90)
• A final preliminary-round weekend package featuring two U.S. games and two Canada games ($90)

Single-game tickets for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal round, if available, will go on sale at a later date. Package availability is limited.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The 10 participating nations will be divided into two groups, with each team playing the other four in its group during the preliminary round. The top four teams from each group move on to the quarterfinals on April 29, with winners advancing to the semifinals on May 1.

The bronze-medal game will be played at 1 p.m. CT on May 2, followed by the gold-medal game at 5 p.m. CT.

The U.S. will take on Norway in its first preliminary-round matchup on Wed., April 21, followed by games against Latvia on Fri., April 23; Sweden on Sat., April 24; and Denmark on Mon., April 26.
