TGL organized the second day of consecutive doubleheaders on Tuesday evening at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Following a hectic Monday night for Atlanta Drive Golf Club, which involved two back-to-back matches, New York Golf Club had its opportunity to compete similarly. New York commenced the evening by facing The Bay Golf Club, followed by a matchup against Boston Common Golf in the second round.

New York lost both matches in the doubleheader, falling to The Bay 5-3, and subsequently to Boston Common 9-2.

Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, and Matt Fitzpatrick began the night for NYGC in the first match, while Cameron Young did not participate. For The Bay, Ludvig Åberg, Shane Lowry, and Wyndham Clark took the field, with Min Woo Lee inactive.

In the contest against Boston Common, Young, Schauffele, and Fowler represented New York. Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama, and Adam Scott played for Boston Common, while Rory McIlroy was not in action.

Åberg and Schauffele initiate the evening

Åberg and Schauffele kicked off the night for their teams. Åberg launched a 312-yard drive, while Schauffele’s drive reached 314 yards. The Bay secured the hole with a nearly 12-foot putt by Lowry.

The Bay gains early advantage

After winning the initial two holes, The Bay’s momentum carried into Hole 3. The team clinched a third consecutive hole, as Åberg converted an 11-foot putt to establish a 3-0 lead.

Lowry’s daughter celebrates birthday at TGL

While at work, Lowry managed to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. Inside the SoFi Center, he presented her with a birthday cake as the attendees joined in singing “Happy Birthday.”

Fitzpatrick misses scoring chance

Trailing 3-1 on Hole 7, New York had an opportunity to equalize at 3-3. After Schauffele’s initial shot left NYGC just under 12 feet from the pin, The Bay accepted a hammer throw from New York. With a chance to win the hole, Fitzpatrick missed the putt, resulting in a tie for the hole.

Matsuyama makes season debut

Matsuyama participated in a match for the first time this season, taking the second shot on Hole 1 for Boston Common.

Scott falls short

Boston had an opportunity to take the lead on Hole 3, as Scott aimed to sink a nearly 40-foot putt. The shot seemed on track to fall into the hole but stopped just inches away, resulting in a tie for the hole.

Scott finds redemption

Scott quickly had a chance to redeem himself after his missed putt on Hole 3. On Hole 8, following two strong shots that positioned him well, he was 11 feet from the hole. Scott capitalized on the opportunity, sinking the putt and giving his team a 4-2 advantage.
