Wrexham standout Paul Mullin criticizes club following loan departure

Paul Mullin has criticized his parent club Wrexham, stating he is “never going to accept” the manner in which he was sidelined from the team over the last 18 months.
Mullin became a pivotal player on the pitch and a prominent figure off it as Wrexham achieved consecutive promotions from the National League to League One, aided by the celebrity ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, as highlighted in the FX documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”

After netting a total of 62 league goals during those promotion seasons, the forward participated in less than half of the club’s league matches last season, scoring only three times in a campaign affected by injuries.
As Wrexham made history by securing a third consecutive promotion to reach England’s second tier for the first time in 43 years, Mullin was considered expendable and was loaned to Wigan Athletic at the beginning of this season. When that loan was terminated in January, he moved to Bradford City on loan until the season concludes.
“It’s something I’ve found quite challenging over the last 18 months. It was sort of out of the blue, after everything that I’ve done and then getting surgery,” Mullin remarked at a press conference on Friday. “It sort of ended from there really, which was difficult to accept.
“I’m never going to accept it, what happened, because it’s something that I find quite tough, but that’s football and you move on.”
Led by Wales striker Kieffer Moore, Wrexham currently occupies the final playoff spot in the Championship as they aim for another promotion, this time to the Premier League.
Mullin, on the other hand, will join a Bradford team striving for promotion from League One, with Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson describing the move as “a good opportunity to be part of a team challenging at the top of the league.”
“I’ve got an opportunity now at a massive club to come be successful here and write another chapter in my career,” Mullin stated.
“It’s more about myself, I just want to be successful. I want to go and do it again, again and again. So I just want to play games and be successful.
“I don’t really feel like I’ve got anything to prove.”
