Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson appreciates Rob Mac’s support in the club’s ‘remarkable narrative’

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has embraced co-owner Rob Mac’s assertion that he has a lifetime position, taking pride in his involvement in the club’s “remarkable narrative.”
Mac, who recently marked five years in partnership with Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, indicated this week that there is no situation that would lead to Parkinson’s dismissal after guiding the team through three promotions from the National League to the Championship.
In reaction to the support, Parkinson remarked: “It’s certainly encouraging for Rob and Ryan to express sentiments like that.”
“It’s an incredible journey for all of us, especially when you acquire a football club and step into the unknown to some extent… Five years later, you find yourself in the top six of the Championship.”
“Who could have anticipated that taking over a National League team with owners new to the sport would unfold in this manner?”
“I aim to relish each match, taking Wrexham to these away venues where we are filling the away sections, experiencing these surreal moments.”
“At times, as a manager, it’s challenging to stay present; you’re always looking forward, but I’m genuinely trying to appreciate what we’ve accomplished.”
Parkinson’s immediate attention shifts to Friday’s FA Cup fourth-round encounter against fellow promotion contenders Ipswich, who are currently three spots ahead in third place.

He approaches this match with new injury challenges following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Millwall, with Matty James suffering a broken toe and Liberato Cacace dealing with a minor hamstring strain.
“It’s not ideal to lose important players, but that’s why you have a squad,” he stated. “We’ve been relatively fortunate with injuries.”
