Neymar’s Santos manager Juan Pablo Vojvoda has been dismissed following a 2-1 loss to Internacional on Wednesday.
The former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona player equalized for Santos after an early own-goal, but an injury-time goal from Johan Carbonero left Santos just a point above the relegation zone.
News of Vojvoda’s termination emerged almost immediately after the match, as the Argentine did not have the opportunity to participate in his post-match press conference.
He leaves Santos with the team in a precarious situation. Internacional’s win marked their first in the Brazilian Serie A this season, placing Santos only one point ahead of them—and the relegation zone—with seven matches played.

Vojvoda took over from Cleber Xavier as Santos manager in August of the previous year, when the club was two points clear of the relegation zone, and managed a slight improvement in results that culminated in a 12th-place finish.
However, Santos has faced difficulties again this season, having secured four wins and suffered six losses in their 15 matches across all competitions.
The last five matches have yielded only one victory and a defeat in the Campeonato Paulista against second-tier team Novorizontino.
Santos has not yet revealed Vojvoda’s replacement.
