Ricardo Pepi, a forward for the United States men’s national team, is nearing an agreement for a transfer to Fulham, sources have informed ESPN.

According to sources, Fulham’s offer of approximately €40 million ($46 million) has been accepted by PSV Eindhoven, and there are no known issues regarding personal terms. The transfer is awaiting a medical examination.

Fulham has long been interested in the PSV striker, and ESPN previously reported that the Premier League club made a bid for him in January.

The transfer did not materialize at that time due to a discrepancy in valuation, as PSV was also looking for a replacement, but Fulham has continued to pursue the 23-year-old.

This deal signifies a substantial profit for PSV, who acquired Pepi from Augsburg for €11 million in 2023. Since then, he has proven to be one of the most effective scorers in the Eredivisie and is expected to play a significant role in the USMNT’s strategy for the upcoming World Cup this summer.

Pepi sustained a broken arm in early January but has netted two goals in his four matches since returning. Overall, this season he has been prolific, scoring 13 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.

The FC Dallas academy product was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad announced on Tuesday for friendly matches against Belgium on March 28 and Portugal three days later. He has recorded 13 goals in 34 appearances for the U.S. since making his debut in 2021.
