Captain Alessandro Deiola and goalkeeper Elia Caprile were the first to notice the incident and hurried over to help the fan.
An ambulance is always stationed on the sidelines for top-flight matches and was summoned to transport the supporter to the local hospital.
The fan has been diagnosed with a fractured clavicle, though no more serious complications have been reported.
If the situation proceeds as expected, he is scheduled to be discharged on Sunday to continue his recovery at home.

The Unipol Domus, where the Sardinians play their home fixtures, is a temporary structure erected while plans to reconstruct the Stadio Sant’Elia were being finalized.
That former arena now lies in ruins, overgrown with vegetation just yards away from the current stadium.
