Real Madrid expresses interest in Chelsea’s Mayra Ramírez, according to sources.

Real Madrid is interested in acquiring Chelsea’s Colombian forward Mayra Ramírez, according to multiple sources reported by ESPN.
At 26 years old, Ramírez has proven herself as a top-tier striker since her transfer to Chelsea from Levante in January 2024, and Madrid officials believe her addition would enhance the team’s attacking options.
Sources indicate that Madrid values the Colombia international’s scoring prowess and physical attributes, and they aim to bolster the squad this summer to reinforce their status as one of Europe’s elite teams, having reached the Champions League quarterfinals in consecutive seasons.
In the 2024-25 season, Madrid was eliminated by Arsenal at the quarterfinal stage, and this week they will face Barcelona in the first leg at the same round.
Ramírez would join fellow Colombia international Linda Caicedo at Valdebebas, with the prominent playmaker Caicedo recently extending her contract with the club until 2030.
However, sources acknowledged that acquiring Ramírez may not be an easy task.
The forward is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2028, and Chelsea paid Levante a then world-record transfer fee of €450,000 in 2024.
There are also concerns regarding Ramírez’s physical fitness. The Colombian has not participated in an official match since August 2, 2025, when she lost the Copa América final against Brazil with the national team.
She underwent surgery for a hamstring injury sustained during a friendly against AC Milan on August 30 and has not returned to play since.
Chelsea coach Sonia Bompastor disclosed in March that Ramírez experienced a setback while nearing her return.
“Mayra was making good progress, but she sustained another injury during her rehabilitation,” Bompastor stated. “It’s been a very challenging season for her, and I’m uncertain if we will see her again before the season concludes, unfortunately.”
Sources mentioned that Madrid will be closely observing Ramírez’s recovery in the final months of the season, with the intention of pursuing her this summer.
