Raheem Sterling made his first competitive appearance since May 2025 on Sunday when he came off the bench for Feyenoord in their 2-1 Eredivisie victory over Telstar.
The former England international substituted for Gijs Smal shortly after the hour mark.
Sterling, 31, joined Rotterdam on loan until the season’s conclusion from Chelsea, where he had been training separately from the team.
Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie stated on Friday that while he was impressed by Sterling’s “exceptional quality,” he was not yet prepared to play a full 90 minutes.
The winger’s previous appearance was for Arsenal, on loan from Chelsea, in a 2-1 victory against Southampton on May 25, 2025.
